EN: Only one week left until Christmas and you still haven’t bought any gifts? Don’t panic, I have 10 advice for you:)
Poti cauta pe net in prima faza ce au brandurile colectia asta si apoi mergi punct ochit – punct lovit in magazine.
🙂 O data pe an e nebunia asta frumoasa!
Dar daca esti indecis in privinta unor cadouri, a masurii pantofilor, a culorii puloverului cadou pentru sora etc. ia in calcul si un timp pentru o cafea sau o masa. In pauza aceasta, recapeti energie si iei decizii mai bune.
Tenisi, haine cat mai lejere, ideal geaca, fularul si caciula lasate in masina in parcare.

EN: I am an organized Gift Giver. Here you can watch the video I made during this year’s Christmas shopping spree. Radu had to follow me all around AFI Cotroceni, but after two hours I had all my shopping list checked. I only have to get something for him, because I couldn’t do that with him around, but that’s a different discussion.
So, I have 10 advice for those of you who didn’t get anything yet and are worried, overwhelmed, panicked.
1. Make a list of everyone you need to get gifts for and take it with you while shopping. It’s awful to forget about your mother-in-law and to have to go back for a single gift.
2. Think ahead about what you would like to buy for everyone (an optimal solution and one for backup). You can search online to see what certain brands have in their current collections and then you just aim and shoot in the stores.
3. You don’t have enough time to shop online, the couriers still have deliveries left from Black Friday. So going to the Mall is the only solution, so you can get everything from one place.
4. Since the Moon Trailer was parked in AFI Cotroceni for quite a while, I can say that I have noticed what the shoppers’ rush hours are, but also which ones are lighter. If your schedule allows you to, you can either go shopping while the child is in kindergarten, so until 2 pm, or after 8 pm, when the mall is still full, but most of the people are heading towards the movies or restaurants, so the shops are less crowded.
5. Make a map of the shops in your mind, so you don’t have to pass by Zara or H&M seven times back and forth. Because you’ll only end up spending all your money on something nice, but less practical for yourself 🙂
6. Save some of your budget for yourself, for a gift of your own, so you don’t risk spending too much on everyone else and suffer for ruthlessly spending your savings for a vacation. So, plan ahead for a maximum “reward” amount.
7. To get into the spirit, to enjoy the mall’s Christmas decorations, the kids talking about Santa and how well they’ve behaved, on your way to the mall I recommend to listen to carols! 🙂 Once a year it’s a beautiful thing to do!
8. If you know beforehand what you need to buy, you should be done in two hours. But if you’re not so sure about some of the gifts, about shoe sizes, colors of sweaters etc., also add the time you need to get some lunch or coffee. During this break you’ll get some more energy and take better decisions.
9. Don’t try to be a fashionista when you go on such shopping sprees. A couple of times I needed to buy some comfortable shoes for myself, because silly me actually thought the heel is not that big…. IT NEVER IS! Sneakers, comfortable clothes, ideally you leave your coat, scarf and hat in the car.
10. If you feel exhausted after getting home, I recommend you watch “Love Actually” again and everything will be fine again.
If you are just like when it comes to making gifts, AFI Cotroceni will reward you with one of the hundreds of instant prizes. Go to www.aficotroceni.ro to find out more details.
Good luck with your shopping!
